people were killed in a crash on Highway 2 near the community of Granum, Alta., about 40 minutes northwest of Lethbridge on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/70c8fc80.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"position:absolute;width:1px;height:1px\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The Mounties said there were two vehicles involved \u2014 one of them was a semi truck that was travelling northbound on Highway 2.<\/p>\n<p>The other vehicle was turning east off Highway 2 onto Highway 519, just north of Granum, when it was struck by the semi truck.<\/p>\n<p>The two occupants in the vehicle that was struck were declared deceased at the scene, while the driver of the semi sustained minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tRCMP say two people were killed Wednesday when their vehicle was struck by a semi truck travelling northbound on Highway 2 near the community of Granum.\t\t\t\t <\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tGlobal News\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>The RCMP said neither alcohol or drugs appear to have been a factor in the crash.<\/p>\n<p>Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<p>This is the second crash along the stretch of Highway 2 in recent months that has resulted in multiple deaths.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t<img target=\"_blank\">On Feb. 2, three people were killed in a crash near the town of Stavely<\/a>, about 25 minutes north of Granum.<\/p>\n<p>Three members of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.southernalbertamustangs.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Southern Alberta Mustangs\u00a0<\/a>Junior hockey team were crossing Highway 2 at the intersection with
