More details have been released about the circumstances that led to an 18-year-old Lloydminster man<\/a> being charged with second-degree murder, after a fatal shooting on a highway south of Edmonton last week.<\/p>\n

In a news conference on April 1, Staff Sergeant John Brown with Alberta RCMP described the events that took place before the killing of 22-year-old Birinder Singh.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cSingh was driving with two friends when he was shot by one of the occupants of a Ford F-150 pickup. Despite being shot, Birinder and his two friends were able to safely stop his\u00a0vehicle, however, Birinder died of his injuries shortly thereafter,\u201d said Brown.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Soon after the murder, Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit asked for the public\u2019s assistance in collecting dash camera footage of the suspect vehicle and identifying those involved.
