Floyd Mayweather & Manny Pacquiao Rematch Falls Apart<\/p>\n

Netflix announced a September showdown between the old welterweight rivals would take place inside the state-of-the-art Las Vegas venue The Sphere, with Mayweather \u2014 who beat Pacquiao in the first fight in 2015 \u2014 putting his unbeaten record on the line for a pro fight.<\/p>\n
But Mayweather, last weekend, put the breaks on the bout by saying it might not take place at The Sphere after all, and would be an exhibition \u2014 something that would surely alienate the fans whose interest had been piqued at the prospect of Floyd possibly losing his zero after all these years.<\/p>\n
MP Promotions through Jas Mathur responded, saying they had signed documentation to support it being a real bout, and that Manny wouldn\u2019t be interested in it any other way. Mathur told Boxing Social this, too, week ago.<\/p>\n
Now, in a report on ESPN, Mathur says \u201cthe fight is still on\u201d and that Mayweather has, indeed, \u201csigned for a professional fight.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cFloyd Mayweather is officially in breach of his contract. He\u2019s been in a breach since the day he went out and said what he said on Saturday and he\u2019s officially in a breach as of yesterday.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mayweather even took an advance on his fight purse, per Mathur.<\/p>\n
A Mayweather-adjacent YouTube firm, Fight Hype, posted a response.<\/p>\n
Nope! It\u2019s NOT \u201cstill on\u201d! <\/p>\n

But I won\u2019t speak on it until this day is over \u2014 don\u2019t want people thinking this is a joke.<\/p>\n
