\u201cUnless it was a full rebuild and we were going to get rid of everybody, then it\u2019s a different story. Then you take that conversation then. But just to do a retool or whatever, I don\u2019t even know, but I mean, I still want to be here, yeah.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the National Post<\/a>, off the ice, John Tavares scored a legal win in his ongoing dispute with the Canada Revenue Agency. A judge dismissed the federal government\u2019s request to question an MLSE representative, ruling the line of questioning should have taken place earlier.<\/p>\n

The case stems from Tavares\u2019 2018 contract, which included a $15.3 million signing bonus. His legal team argues the payment qualifies as an inducement to return to Canada and should be taxed at a lower rate.
