Courtney Love<\/a> is urging Dave Grohl<\/a> to \u201cjust say we\u2019re cool\u201d so his \u201cstraight white male\u201d fans stop \u201cbothering\u201d her. The Hole singer made her plea to the Foo Fighters frontman during her appearance on the latest episode of Billy Corgan\u2019s The Magnificent Others podcast.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s no secret that Love and Grohl have had a rocky relationship dating back to her marriage to Grohl\u2019s late Nirvana bandmate Kurt Cobain. Their disputes have ranged from Nirvana legal battles to public insults, but the pair seemed to have patched things up at Nirvana\u2019s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2014.<\/p>\n

That said, Love feels like she\u2019s still public enemy number one in the eyes of Grohl\u2019s fans, and wants the Foo Fighter to publicly confirm their truce.<\/p>\n

\u201cGrohl, come out with it and just say we\u2019re cool,\u201d said Love on Corgan\u2019s podcast. \u201cBe man enough to man up, because you\u2019re the \u00dcbermensch that has all the straight males, and we\u2019re cool, but you won\u2019t say it because you\u2019re afraid you\u2019ll lose your audience. You\u2019re afraid it\u2019ll affect your relationship with literal Paul McCartney, \u2019cause he\u2019s got a friendship with Paul.\u201d<\/p>\n

Love had previously criticized the surviving Nirvana members performance with the legendary Beatle at the 12-12-12 Hurricane Sandy benefit concert, saying, \u201cLook, if John [Lennon] were alive, it would be cool.\u201d<\/p>\n

Continuing her conversation with Corgan, Love added, \u201cDave has not the talent of Paul, let\u2019s be clear. They both have the [inaudible] wife \u2014 haunting, dark shadow. They both have the cool guy dying \u2014 haunting, tragically\u2026 haunted. So, they\u2019re buddies. Is that why?\u201d<\/p>\n

She further pleaded, \u201cDave, it would really behoove me if the straight white males that are your base will stop picking on me, the millennials in particular. Gen Z is not picking on me. Your heart drops whenever somebody that you\u2019re cool with, or maybe just remotely cool with, disses you in the press.\u201d<\/p>\n

Corgan then chimed in, \u201cI can confirm that I\u2019ve spent time with you and Dave together, and Dave doesn\u2019t have any issue with you,\u201d adding, \u201cThere\u2019s the stuff that goes on behind the castle walls, and there\u2019s stuff goes out front.\u201d<\/p>\n

Love then went on to say Grohl has written four songs about her, noting, \u201cI couldn\u2019t write a song about Dave Grohl to save my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grohl has confirmed that 1995\u2019s \u201cI\u2019ll Stick Around\u201d was written about Love, while there\u2019s also speculation that 2007\u2019s \u201cLet It Die\u201d is about their feud.<\/p>\n
