<\/p>\nA new clubhouse that \u201cenhances the overall experience\u201d for users of a domed sports facility in Mississauga\u2019s west end will host a grand opening next week.<\/p>\n
Premier Racquet Clubs said the new clubhouse at its Premier Racquet Clubs Mississauga facility, located at Churchill Meadows Community Centre and Mattamy Sports Park on Ninth Line, \u201crepresents the next phase of growth\u201d for the relatively new sports complex, which offers year-round tennis and pickleball play.<\/p>\n
PRC officials said the new clubhouse features:<\/p>\n
A Premier Racquet Store (tennis and pickleball equipment and apparel).
\nIndoor washroom facilities.
\nA \u201cwelcoming social space\u201d for members and guests.<\/p>\n
The grand opening takes place on April 10 starting at 6 p.m. PRC said all members of the community are welcome to attend the event, which will include a tour of the new clubhouse.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis addition enhances the overall experience for players and families, reinforcing PRC\u2019s commitment to providing a complete, community-focused racquet sports environment,\u201d Premier Racquet Clubs officials said in a news release, adding they\u2019re putting out a broader invitation as well for residents to \u201cbe part of the continued growth of racquet sports in Mississauga.\u201d<\/p>\n
PRC added it continues to grow its presence across Ontario, \u201cwith Mississauga serving as a flagship location for accessible, high-quality tennis and pickleball programming.\u201d<\/p>\n

Premier Racquet Clubs Mississauga opened its $4.3-million indoor tennis and pickleball bubble\/dome in November 2024<\/a>, and it has \u201cquickly grown into a vibrant hub for racquet sports in the region,\u201d facility officials said.<\/p>\n The domed facility features:<\/p>\n Seven indoor tennis courts. The facility opened in late 2024 as a project that was spearheaded by the city in partnership with Premier Racquet Clubs and Tennis Canada. It became the first such facility available to all residents of the city and not only those with club memberships.<\/p>\n The sports complex operates as a year-round \u201cbubbled tennis centre\u201d that also includes space for the relatively new and popular sport of pickleball<\/a>, city officials said in announcing the project earlier in 2024<\/a>.<\/p>\n Mississauga officials said at the time the new air-supported domed facility, located on Ninth Line just north of Erin Centre Boulevard, will:<\/p>\n Create an additional 400 hours of court time per week during winter. In an earlier online breakdown of the project, city officials said the year-round tennis\/pickleball courts provide Mississauga residents with access they\u2019ve been sorely lacking.<\/p>\n \u201cAll covered courts in Mississauga are located in private and membership-based facilities, posing community access challenges,\u201d reads part of the project description provided in 2024.<\/p>\n City officials also said in the project breakdown Mississauga was, at the time, the most underserved Ontario municipality, per capita, when it comes to year-round tennis access.<\/p>\n Mississauga Ward 10 Coun. Sue McFadden, in whose ward the facility is located, said earlier the complex \u201cis a testament to our commitment to promoting active, healthy lifestyles and will attract many residents year-round.\u201d<\/p>\n Mattamy Sports Park also features amenities that include basketball courts, outdoor fitness equipment, a playground, skateboard area, lit sports field, lit and tournament-grade cricket pitch, spray pad and a leash-free dog park.<\/p>\n Mattamy Sports Park, named in June 2022<\/a>, spreads out over 57 acres and first opened in October 2021 as part of the $51-million state-of-the-art Churchill Meadows Community Centre.<\/p>\n

\nYear-round operation (6 a.m.-11 p.m. daily).
\nMore than 700 active members, ranging in age from three to over 80.
\nProgramming that includes City of Mississauga Parks and Recreation programs, PRC junior and adult development programs and a leading high-performance junior tennis program.<\/p>\n

\nProvide opportunities to host provincial, national and international events.
\nInclude drop-in and structured play, lessons and camp programming for children and youth.<\/p>\n
