N.W.T. RCMP have charged two youth in the territory after they allegedly used artificial intelligence to make child sexual abuse and exploitation material.<\/p>\n
In a news release Thursday, police said they received a report last month that two youth used AI to alter social media photos of other young people to make them appear nude. The two then shared the photos with each other.<\/p>\n
RCMP arrested the two young people and seized their electronic devices. They both face charges including making, transmitting and possessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material. <\/p>\n
An educator at an N.W.T. school where several students are involved in the material says the situation affects more than one school. <\/p>\n

After appearing before a Justice of the Peace, the youth were released with conditions and will appear in court at a later date. <\/p>\n
