MMA Regional Pick of the Week: Ares FC 39
\nAres FC Welterweight Fight: Ibrahima Man\u00e9 vs Jason Ponet<\/a><\/p>\n

Card Start Time: Friday (4\/3), 12:30pm EST (UFC Fight Pass)<\/p>\n

The co-main event of this Ares FC card pits a pair of veterans at the tail end of their career. However, both have seen some very different action as of late and been treated very differently.<\/p>\n

While Ibrahima Man\u00e9 was once a touted prospect, he\u2019s fallen on hard times. After putting together a six-fight winning streak, he has now lost back-to-back fights. Even worse, he was finished inside of 90 seconds in both of those bouts. In those bouts, issues of his chin seem to have reared their ugly head.<\/p>\n

Jason Ponet isn\u2019t exactly on stable feet in his career \u2013 sitting at 25-20-1 lifetime. However, two things you have to respect is his durability and his ability to swing. He hasn\u2019t been finished in a fight in over half a decade. Additionally, he\u2019s still got that big power in his hands and elbows that made him a fan-favorite to French fans years ago.<\/p>\n

With Ponet having the big power and durability, I expect him to be able to find the chin of the fading Man\u00e9. Plus, you have to love a price like this one.<\/p>\n
