This offseason, the Dallas Cowboys<\/a> have made some big moves as they adjust their defensive roster to fit defensive coordinator Christian Parker’s scheme<\/a>. They not only made additions to the roster, but they also traded defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa to the San Francisco 49ers<\/a> in exchange for a third-round pick.<\/p>\n

As they continue to tweak their roster, the Cowboys could look to trade more players to pick up more draft capital. With this in mind, Reid D. Hanson of Blogging the Boys named the five most tradeable players on the roster<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Easily the most surprising name Hanson lists is wide receiver\/kick returner KaVontae Turpin<\/a>. A two-time All-Pro, Turpin signed a three-year, $13.5 million contract extension in 2025<\/a>. He was expected to have a larger role in the offense after signing that deal, but as Hanson says, it didn’t yield the expected results.<\/p>\n

“The Cowboys tried to expand Turpin\u2019s role in 2025 and in some ways it worked and in other ways it failed. Turpin posted career numbers on offense, but miscues and drops were littered throughout. His return ability also suffered with Turpin collecting uncharacteristic penalties and a perceived loss of confidence along the way,” Hanson wrote.<\/p>\n

“Even coming off a down year, Turpin is highly valued around the NFL. His game-breaking speed is unmistakable and with a contract that runs through 2027, he should garner a pretty decent return from a team looking for juice. The Cowboys may not want to lose him in their return game but offensively they can take the hit. CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens and Ryan Flournoy demand opportunities and there already aren\u2019t enough balls to go around. A fourth-round pick might get this deal done.”<\/p>\n

KaVontae Turpin needs a bounce-back year in 2026\"Dallas<\/p>\n

It would be surprising to see Turpin traded by Dallas. If anything, it would make more sense to utilize him less often on offense, and allow him to focus on his role as a return man.<\/p>\n

That’s where his true value lies, with Turpin earning First-Team All-Pro honors in 2024 and Second-Team in 2025<\/a>. He’s always a threat for a big play, and using him in certain packages on offense should also remain in play.<\/p>\n

With CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and Ryan Flournoy on the roster, however, it would make sense to sprinkle him in with less frequency, allowing him to work on a bounce-back season.<\/p>\n
