Listing agent Hamish Ross said his clients sold because they were moving out of the province. They purchased the house in 2017. They first listed in August during a slow market. They received the winning bid after reducing the asking price by $101,000 in early February. There was some back-and-forth negotiations before they agreed on a purchase price, a further $118,000 below the adjusted asking price.<\/p>\n

\u201cAltogether, we had four offers,\u201d he said. \u201cThe sellers are relieved to have it sold, and the buyers are really excited because they have kids, and there\u2019s a nice big pool and a big yard as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

This four-bedroom, four-bathroom home was a high-end, executive-style residence when it was built in 1985. The 3,797-square-foot house sits on nearly a third of an acre on a hill with views of Mount Baker, on a quiet street close to downtown Cloverdale. <\/p>\n

A heated pool, hot tub and cabana with a full bathroom take up the private landscaped backyard, and there\u2019s a media room in the loft over the 484-square-foot garage. <\/p>\n

The house has hardwood floors, granite counters, stainless-steel appliances, a grand curved stairway, cathedral ceilings and central air conditioning.<\/p>\n

The agent\u2019s take<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is so much competition,\u201d said Mr. Ross. He is working on 20 listings, mostly in the South Surrey and White Rock area.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe potential of this home is massive. But it sold for less than asking because of the need for updates.\u201d <\/p>\n
