Two suspects are being held in custody and charges are pending against a third following a home invasion where a firearm was stolen and a family\u2019s dog went missing.<\/p>\n

The break-in happened shortly before 2 a.m. at a home in the area of Mount Hope Road and Old Church Road in Caledon, the OPP says.<\/p>\n

No injuries were reported, but police say property including a firearm was stolen from the home.<\/p>\n

Investigators also said the family\u2019s dog, Dumbledore, fled the home during the break-in and was missing for days. He was later located and returned safely to the family home<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The OPP says an investigation with the assistance of Peel Regional Police Service and Toronto Police Service has identified three suspects, and two have been arrested and charged. A third suspect has been identified and the investigation remains ongoing, police say.<\/p>\n

Caledon\u2019s closed-circuit television cameras helped investigators identify the suspect vehicle, which has now been seized. Police also recovered some of the personal items stolen from the victims, including the firearm.<\/p>\n

The OPP says Kevin Paredes, 19, and Noah Scharf-Omorri, 20, both of Ottawa, have been charged with multiple offences, including \u00a0theft under $5,000, disguise with intent,\u00a0 break and enter a place and steal a firearm, and two counts each of assault with a weapon and robbery with a weapon, among others.<\/p>\n

Investigators believe the accused may have been involved in other criminality within the Region of Peel, and are asking anyone with information to contact the OPP by calling 905-584-2241 or by email at [email\u00a0protected]<\/a>.<\/p>\n
