Community comes together for 6th annual Easter bunny hop in White Rock<\/p>\n

Hundreds of people gathered at Memorial Park in White Rock on Good Friday for the 6th annual Peace Arch Hospital Auxiliary bunny hop, celebrating Easter with the fun-filled, family-friendly event.<\/p>\n
Many of the children wore Easter bunny ears and carried easter baskets for their candy.<\/p>\n
It costs $3 a child for entry, with every dollar raised going directly to \u201cpatient care and comfort and Peace Arch Hospital,\u201d said Auxiliary president Kathy McIntyre.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s our way to bring the community together on the morning of Good Friday and share some music, food, and fun events,\u201d McIntyre said.<\/p>\n
The event featured face painting, live music, photos with the Easter Bunny, food, mini-golf, an Easter egg hunt, an Easter bonnet parade, and plenty of Easter treats.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverybody looks like they\u2019re having fun. The kids love it, and it\u2019s a nice thing for parents to do with their kids,\u201d McIntyre said. \u201cWhen you step back and look at our community, it\u2019s so much more diverse than it used to be, and that\u2019s wonderful to see everybody gathering together like this.\u201d<\/p>\n
The event continues to grow each year, and organizers expect to welcome several hundred attendees from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.<\/p>\n
White Rock city councillor Anthony Manning spoke on behalf of the mayor to open up the bunny hop. <\/p>\n
MP for South Surrey- White Rock, Ernie Klassen, thanked the Auxiliary for organizing the event.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnytime that we can do something that brings everybody from the community together or welcomes everyone from the community to come in and join an event like this is a great day for the city of White Rock,\u201d Klassen said.<\/p>\n
