Corey Day, in his first full season on the NASCAR O\u2019Reilly Auto Parts Series, claimed his first career pole position on Friday for Saturday\u2019s running of the North Carolina Education Lottery 250 at Rockingham Speedway in North Carolina. Day, the next-to-last qualifier, clipped defending series champion Jesse Love for the pole position with a 22.717-second lap. It is the second year back at Rockingham for the O\u2019Reilly series, which previously ran there from 1982-86 and 1988-2004. <\/p>\n
