One of Canada\u2019s 25 Most Wanted is in custody after B.C.\u2019s Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) announced that investigators arrested a man in Surrey last week.<\/p>\n
Officers with the Uniform Gang Enforcement Team (UGET) identified and located Chad Dandan during \u201cproactive patrols\u201d on March 26.<\/p>\n
According to police, the suspect has been evading the authorities by concealing his identity.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe suspect took deliberate steps to avoid being recognized, but our officers\u2019 training and vigilance led to his arrest,\u201d said Sgt. Sarbjit K. Sangha.<\/p>\n
Dandan, accused of being connected to a homicide in Winnipeg, Manitoba, was ranked number seven on the country-wide BOLO (Be On the Look Out) Program, featuring Canada\u2019s most wanted fugitives.<\/p>\n
He was wanted Canada-wide on charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping, and extortion.<\/p>\n
Local police have been in contact with their colleagues at the Winnipeg Police Service to \u201ccoordinate the accused\u2019s custody.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe accused remains in custody pending further proceedings in Winnipeg,\u201d police said in a written statement.<\/p>\n
Anyone with information about individuals featured on the BOLO program is encouraged to contact local police.<\/p>\n
