Police say two people are dead after a targeted shooting outside a Brampton elementary school Friday night.<\/p>\n
Peel Regional Police media relations office Laurie McCann says a teenage boy and a man in his 20s were both shot and died at the scene in the area of Rutherford Road and Weybridge Trail.<\/p>\n
McCann says the preliminary investigation indicates there was an argument between a group of people on the grounds outside St. Joachim Elementary School, which escalated into gun violence.<\/p>\n
The media relations officer says one of the victims who was shot fled the area but collapsed a short time later.\u00a0<\/p>\n
McCann says a suspect or suspects also fled the scene, though its unclear if they left on foot or in a vehicle.<\/p>\n
She says police do not have a description for the suspect or suspects at this time.\u00a0<\/p>\n
McCann says Peel Regional Police\u2019s homicide unit is out canvassing and speaking to witnesses as the investigation into the shooting continues.<\/p>\n
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who has video surveillance or dash camera footage from the area on Friday night around 10:30 p.m. to come forward.<\/p>\n
