Be sure to follow along for all the latest and breaking news from the world of Formula 1<\/a>.Despite his on-track struggles, the Japanese Grand Prix<\/a> weekend was a joyous one for Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso<\/a>, who became a father for the very first time.<\/p>\n

The 44-year-old missed the Thursday media day and FP1 at Suzuka before confirming that his partner Melissa Jimenez had given birth to a baby boy, but his name had been under wraps until now.<\/p>\n

On Instagram, Alonso posted a gift that he received from Formula 1, a paddock pass with a photo and the baby\u2019s name: Leonard Alonso Jim\u00e9nez.<\/p>\n

During the final laps in Japan, McLaren<\/a>‘s Norris eventually overtook Hamilton to achieve P5 after a tough weekend, but the McLaren driver later revealed the crucial move was made without his actual input.<\/p>\n

The world champion said: \u201cI didn\u2019t even want to overtake Lewis, it\u2019s just about the battery deploys, and I don\u2019t want it to deploy, but I can\u2019t control it. So I overtake him, and then I have no battery, so he just flies past.\u201d<\/p>\n

“When you are at the mercy of what the power unit delivers\u2026 the drivers should be in control of it, at least, and we\u2019re not.\u201d<\/p>\n

For former F1<\/a> driver and Sky pundit Martin Brundle<\/a>, the fact Norris’ MCL40 made the overtake without the input of the driver is a “big issue,” one that he expects the FIA<\/a> will have to fix before the next Grand Prix in Miami.\"Norris<\/p>\n
