Users in the GTPlanet forums<\/a> have reported receiving an invitation to a PlayStation survey over the past few days, and some of the questions it contains are raising eyebrows.<\/p>\n

The survey, which arrived via email, opens with some fairly standard engagement fair, but it\u2019s the final two that have caught the community\u2019s attention. GTPlanet user \u201ckjb\u201d shared screenshots of the various questions<\/a> in our forums, giving us a clear look at what Sony is asking.<\/p>\n

After gauging whether players have tried the Power Pack DLC, the survey asks what players would want \u2014 and not want \u2014 to see in another Power Pack-style expansion.<\/p>\n

That alone is noteworthy, given that the Power Pack<\/a> launched alongside the Spec III update in December 2025<\/a> as the first-ever paid DLC for the game. But the real headline is the final question, which reads: \u201cIf there ever was a Spec 4 update for Gran Turismo 7\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

With the game currently sitting on Spec III, the mere mention of a Spec 4 is sure to spark conversation about the long-term future of GT7 and how much further Polyphony Digital intends to push the title. Here\u2019s the full list of questions from the survey:<\/p>\n

It\u2019s worth noting that Sony has sent out similar surveys in the past, and not everything that appears in a survey ends up becoming a reality.<\/p>\n

The most memorable example is probably the 2012 survey<\/a> that asked participants about their interest in a Gran Turismo game for the PlayStation Vita. That title, of course, never materialized, and the Vita was eventually discontinued without ever receiving a dedicated Gran Turismo release. So the mere inclusion of a topic in one of these surveys should not be read as a confirmation that it\u2019s in the works.<\/p>\n

That said, it\u2019s still interesting to see what Sony is asking about. The open-ended nature of the final two questions suggests the company is actively gathering feedback on the direction players want the game to take \u2014 and the specific framing of a \u201cSpec 4\u201d update indicates that the possibility is at least on someone\u2019s whiteboard, even if it hasn\u2019t been greenlit.<\/p>\n

Given that Gran Turismo 7 is still maintaining an active user base of over two million monthly players<\/a> and that the Power Pack proved there\u2019s a viable model for premium expansions, it\u2019s not hard to imagine Polyphony Digital continuing to build on the current game for some time to come. Whether that takes the shape of another paid DLC, a major free update, or both, remains to be seen.
