ROCKINGHAM, N.C. – Corey Day <\/p>\n

<\/a> pushed the bar a little higher this weekend at Rockingham Speedway. <\/p>\n

Coming off of his first career NASCAR O’Reilly Series pole on Friday <\/p>\n

<\/a>, Day racked up his first two stage victories as well, leading 118 laps and extending his top-10 streak to seven with a 10th-place finish on Saturday. That marks the longest active streak in the series. <\/p>\n

Day was dominant throughout much of Saturday’s race. The driver of the No. 17 HendrickCars.com Chevy <\/p>\n

<\/a> was able to overcome a little early adversity as well. With Day leading, the caution flag fell with just 10 laps remaining in the opening segment. With several cars staying out, Day lined up sixth on the ensuing restart after making a pit stop. Coming through turn two, he dove to the bottom and quickly cleared to second, eventually running down leader Taylor Gray on new tires and snatching the lead away again before cruising to the first stage win of his NOAPS career. <\/p>\n

A caution in stage two couldn’t derail Day either as he continued to show the way, rolling to a second stage win and a total of 20 bonus points. <\/p>\n

However, a miscue on pit road in stage three pushed the No. 17 back in traffic where dirty air made for tight cars and tough passing all day. When a yellow flag waved with 78 circuits remaining, Day came to pit road then came again to top off, forgoing track position to be sure on fuel. From there, it was a slow and steady climb and with a last-lap pass, Day was able to extend his streak for another week. <\/p>\n

The NOAPS will return next week with a Saturday race at Bristol Motor Speedway. The event will start at 3 p.m. and will air on the CW <\/p>\n
