SAN FRANCISCO (AP) \u2014 Clay Holmes<\/a> and Tobias Myers<\/a> combined on a three-hitter and the New York Mets<\/a> beat the San Francisco Giants<\/a> 9-0 on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

Holmes (2-0) matched his career high with seven innings and allowed only one runner past first base. The right-hander gave up three hits and had four strikeouts with two walks.<\/p>\n

Myers retired the final six batters in order for the Mets\u2019 first shutout of the season.<\/p>\n

Mark Vientos<\/a> had three hits, and Tyrone Taylor<\/a> hit a pinch three-run homer and drove in four runs. Marcus Semien<\/a>, Bo Bichette<\/a> and Brett Baty<\/a> each had two hits.<\/p>\n

Matt Chapman<\/a>, Jung Hoo Lee<\/a> and Jerar Encarnacion<\/a> each had singles for the Giants. <\/p>\n

San Francisco dropped to 1-5 at home this season.<\/p>\n

The Mets got to starter Landen Roupp<\/a> (1-1) early with some help from San Francisco\u2019s defense. After Giants shortstop Willy Adames<\/a>\u2019 throw on Semien\u2019s infield single pulled first baseman Jerar Encarnacion<\/a> off the bag, third baseman Chapman made a throwing error that allowed one run to score. Luis Torrens<\/a> added an RBI groundout to make it 2-0.<\/p>\n

New York broke the game open with a five-run fifth. Bichette and Vientos each had RBI singles before Taylor\u2019s three-run home run off Ryan Borucki<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Giants ace Logan Webb<\/a> (1-1, 7.36 ERA) was set to start Sunday against RHP Kodai Senga<\/a> (0-1, 3.00).<\/p>\n
