With four games left in the regular season, the Islanders have a one-point advantage over the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/ca\/nhl\/columbus-blue-jackets\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Columbus Blue Jackets<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/ca\/nhl\/philadelphia-flyers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Philadelphia Flyers<\/a> in their division, along with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/ca\/nhl\/ottawa-senators\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ottawa Senators<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/ca\/nhl\/detroit-red-wings\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Detroit Red Wings<\/a> in the wild card picture.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, New York decided that Patrick Roy was not the man to lead the team to the playoffs.
