{"id":584665,"date":"2026-04-05T22:55:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-05T22:55:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/584665\/"},"modified":"2026-04-05T22:55:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-05T22:55:09","slug":"motorcyclist-dead-after-collision-in-scarborough","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/584665\/","title":{"rendered":"Motorcyclist dead after collision in Scarborough"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"b-date-custom__date-item\">Updated:\u00a0April 05, 2026 at 6:42PM EDT<\/p>\n<p class=\"b-date-custom__date-item\">Published:\u00a0April 05, 2026 at 4:27PM EDT<\/p>\n<p>Police say the area of Danforth Avenue and Byng Avenue is closed as authorities investigate what caused the fatal crash. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A 21-year-old motorcyclist is dead following a collision in Scarborough, Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Toronto police say the crash happened at around 3:05 p.m. in the Danforth Avenue and Byng Avenue area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Investigators say a vehicle was travelling eastbound on Danforth Avenue and attempted to make a left turn into a plaza when it was struck by a westbound motorcycle.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/JDJQVK6WRFALHE3CRE5OSSZIJE.jpeg\"  width=\"800\" height=\"450\"\/>TPS Toronto police investigating after a motorcyclist was struck and killed following a collision in the city\u2019s east end (CP24 photo). <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police say the rider, a 21-year-old man, suffered life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead in hospital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Insp.
