Former UFC star Darren Till has issued a statement on his next move in fighting via his Instagram page, with the Liverpudlian confirming his split from Misfits Boxing.<\/p>\n
Till, 33, previously rose to prominence during his UFC career, winning six of his 11 bouts under the promotion and losing five, one of which came in his challenge for the welterweight title against Tyron Woodley in 2018.<\/p>\n
After losing three successive fights, the 33-year-old was released by the UFC in March 2023 before turning his hand to boxing and signing with KSI-backed Misfits.<\/p>\n
The Scouser won all three of his bouts under the promotional banner \u2013 against Anthony Taylor, Darren Stewart and UFC legend Luke Rockhold \u2013 but has now cut ties with Misfits in search of new opportunities.<\/p>\n
On Monday (6 April), Till confirmed he had \u201cparted ways with Misfits\u201d on \u201cextremely good terms\u201d, with the fighter keen to emphasise he has \u201cnothing but love for Misfits\u201d in a video posted to his Instagram account.<\/p>\n
Till said: \u201cIt\u2019s time to try my hand at something else\u2026 not a lot of people wanted to fight me. It was getting really hard to get fights. So, in the next few days, I\u2019m going to have a massive announcement, some massive news. I\u2019m sure you\u2019re all going to be excited to see what I\u2019m going to announce. And I just want to say again thanks to Misfits, thanks to everyone involved, and I\u2019ll probably be back there soon as well \u2013 this is not the end of it with Misfits. Peace and love.\u201d<\/p>\n
Fans were quick to offer their thoughts on Till\u2019s announcement on social media.<\/p>\n
One said: \u201cHe\u2019s tagged Lee Eaton\u2026 Till moving to professional boxing with Queensberry?\u201d<\/p>\n
Another added: \u201cIf this isn\u2019t UFC or Matchroom and just some random Dubai promotion money grab, then it\u2019s an L.\u201d<\/p>\n
A third claimed: \u201cMatchroom, UFC or BKFC.\u201d<\/p>\n
While it remains unclear who Till\u2019s next opponent will be, he has been heavily linked with a potential bout with former four-time super-middleweight champion Carl Froch.<\/p>\n
The pair have gone back and forth on social media for some time, although no bout has been confirmed.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, on 1 April, Till took to social media, slamming former UFC star Nate Diaz, who has also boxed in recent years.<\/p>\n
