MONTREAL \u2014 The Montreal Canadiens<\/a> fell 3-0 to the New Jersey Devils<\/a> on Sunday night, ending an eight-game winning streak just hours after clinching a second straight trip to the playoffs.<\/p>\n

Jacob Markstrom<\/a> stopped 18 shots for his first shutout of the season, while Cody Glass<\/a> and Timo Meier<\/a> scored for New Jersey (40-24-3), which is fighting to keep its slim post-season chances alive. Connor Brown<\/a> added an empty-net goal and Jack Hughes<\/a> provided two assists.<\/p>\n

Jacob Fowler<\/a> made 17 saves for Montreal (45-22-10) after the Canadiens capped an undefeated five-game road trip with a 4-3 shootout win over the Devils on Saturday.<\/p>\n
