{"id":585964,"date":"2026-04-06T14:15:34","date_gmt":"2026-04-06T14:15:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/585964\/"},"modified":"2026-04-06T14:15:34","modified_gmt":"2026-04-06T14:15:34","slug":"seven-month-search-leads-to-murder-charge-for-brampton-man","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/585964\/","title":{"rendered":"Seven-month search leads to murder charge for Brampton man"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Shawne Griffiths of Brampton has been arrested.<\/p>\n<p>A man police have been looking for since September has ended, following his arrest over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Toronto Police say that Kye-Shawne Griffiths, 29, now faces a charge of second-degree murder in connection with the death of a Markham man.<\/p>\n<p>The fatal shooting happened on Sept. 24 around 10 p.m. at a restaurant in the area of Sheppard Avenue East and Brimley Road in Scarborough, the Toronto Police Service says.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators say Yueyuan Dong, 42, was shot following\u00a0a \u201cphysical confrontation\u201d with multiple people.
