Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever is coming off an injury-plagued second season.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no denying that Caitlin Clark<\/a> of the Indiana Fever<\/a> and Angel Reese<\/a> of the Chicago Sky<\/a> are two of the most popular WNBA<\/a> players in the world today.<\/p>\n

Their rivalry began after Clark\u2019s Iowa and Reese\u2019s LSU met in the 2023 NCAA championship game, with the Tigers<\/a> getting the win. It continued the following season, when the Hawkeyes got their revenge and eliminated the defending champs in the Elite 8.<\/p>\n

Both players entered the WNBA Draft, with Clark getting selected first and Reese dropping to seventh. They both blossomed into stars for their respective franchises, entering their third season full of expectations.<\/p>\n

Reese\u2019s Teammate Praises Clark\"Rebecca<\/a><\/p>\n

In an appearance on The 6th Woman Basketball Podcast<\/a>, Sky forward Rebecca Allen discussed a variety of topics. She opened up about her WNBA career, the new collective bargaining agreement and her tenure in Chicago, among others.<\/p>\n

Later in the podcast, Allen played the \u201cOne Word\u201d game to describe some of her fellow WNBA players. She called Ezi Magbegor a \u201cbeautiful soul,\u201d while she described Breanna Stewart as the \u201cGOAT.\u201d<\/p>\n

Allen used \u201ctalented\u201d for Emma Meesseman, with Sabrina Ionescu<\/a> and Skylar Diggins being described as \u201cintense.\u201d She had nothing for Reese, whom she just called a \u201cVictoria\u2019s Secret model,\u201d while using \u201cvery smart\u201d for Napheesa Collier<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As for Clark, she called her a \u201cgame-changer.\u201d The Australian star didn\u2019t elaborate on her description of the Fever guard, but it\u2019s safe to assume that Clark had a hand in helping increase the popularity of the WNBA. She\u2019s one of the main reasons why the new CBA will increase the salaries of players.<\/p>\n

Clark and Reese Getting Raises Next Season<\/p>\n

Due to the new CBA agreed upon by the WNBA and WNBPA, young stars like Clark and Reese will be getting a bump in salary this upcoming season. Both players, as well as other stars such as Paige Bueckers<\/a>, Sonia Citron and Aliyah Boston<\/a>, are going to see an uptick in their annual earnings.<\/p>\n

According to ESPN\u2019s Alexa Philippou<\/a>, the new provision called EPIC, or Exceptional Performance on Initial Contract, is going to reward players on their rookie contracts with increased salaries based on their previous performances.<\/p>\n

\"Caitlin<\/a><\/p>\n

In the case of Clark, she won the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year and was even named part of the All-WNBA First Team. She was supposed to earn just $85,973 this upcoming season, as per Spotrac<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But to be eligible under the EPIC provision, Clark is set to earn $528,846. It will rise to $597,596 in her fourth season. If she doesn\u2019t leave via free agency, Clark is projected to earn $1.3 million in 2027 and a supermax salary of $1.7 million in 2028.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Reese gets a 460% increase in salary, going from earning just $82,399 to $350,692. Unlike Clark, who has made an All-WNBA Team, the Sky star has yet to accomplish the feat, but she\u2019s a two-time All-Star and has led the league in rebounds in her first two seasons.<\/p>\n
