There has been a marked increase so far this year in the number of collisions involving impaired driving, according to the Ottawa Police Service.<\/p>\n
As of March 30, impaired driving had caused 56 collisions in Ottawa, a 27 per cent increase in the number of collisions involving drugs or alcohol, compared to the same period in 2025, police said in a social media post on Monday, April 6.<\/p>\n
The Ottawa police said they had conducted 17 RIDE campaigns from March 13-22, charging 30 people with impaired driving-related offences following roadside checks, RIDE verifications and community calls.<\/p>\n
