Slovenian cyclist Tadej Poga\u010dar won the Tour de Flanders to kick off April, marking his third win in three races so far this season and his seventh straight win going back to last season. After the Tour de Flanders win, Lance Armstrong is ready to officially crown Tadej Poga\u010dar as the greatest cyclist of all time.<\/p>\n

Of course, Lance is not comparing himself to Tadej<\/a>. It is the legendary Eddy Merckx, who won eleven Grand Tours including 5 Tours de France, 5 Giros d\u2019Italia, and a Vuelta a Espa\u00f1a, who is considered the G.O.A.T. of professional cycling.<\/p>\n

Lance Armstrong Says Tadej Pogacar Is The Greatest Of All Time<\/p>\n

At 27-years-old, Tadej Poga\u010dar has already won 4 Tours de France (2020, 2021, 2024, and 2025), he won the 2024 Giro d\u2019Italia, 12 one-day monument races including the 2026 Milan\u2013San Remo and Tour de Flanders, and with the Flanders win is now in possession of the 2nd most monument wins in history, breaking a tie with Roger De Vlaeminck.<\/p>\n

Following the Tour of Flanders, Lance Armstrong and his colleagues discussed the race on Lance\u2019s WEDU channel and one thing Lance<\/a> brought up is that at the current rate Tadej Poga\u010dar is winning he is set to pass Eddy Merckx\u2019s total in 2028 to officially solidify himself as the G.O.A.T. of cycling.<\/p>\n

But to Lance Armstrong\u2019s credit, he has already seen enough and is ready to admit that Tadej Poga\u010dar<\/a> is the greatest cyclist of all time. There\u2019s simply no need to debate this out over the next several years.<\/p>\n

Lance Armstrong on Tadej Poga\u010dar: \u201cWe have to stop this debate. For me, this is over. This guy is that good. He\u2019s the greatest of all time, by far.\u201d Armstrong added that Pogi is so dominant at this point the field wilts when he makes a move, saying \u201cyou can see it in the other riders\u2026 they know. They know how this goes. The only factor that could change anything would be a crash or bad luck, and even that might not stop him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Even before Lance Armstrong said this, there have been viral videos around each race where some reporter asks all of the racers who the greatest of all time is and 9 out of 10 say Tadej Pogacar.<\/p>\n

It really isn\u2019t even a debate at this point. Which is wild because I brought his name up on Easter with some family members and they knew who Eddy Merckx was but had never heard of Tadej. The US Cycling media seems to have zero interest in making him a bigger star in this country outside of the cycling world.<\/p>\n
