He passed away peacefully in his sleep today at the age of 61. He was the best son, brother, and friend I ever had and he will be sorely missed. Love you, brother,\u201d Jimmy Hilton wrote.<\/p>\n
During his boxing career, Alex Hilton quickly made his mark, winning the vacant Canadian middleweight title at the age of 18 against Ralph Hollett in December 1983.<\/p>\n
He subsequently lost the title in January 1985 after failing to meet the deadline for arranging a title defence.<\/p>\n
Hilton had several run-ins with the law throughout his life, particularly during the 1980s.<\/p>\n
