WNBA free agency is underway as the Wings weigh roster moves, including Arike Ogunbowale’s future. With cap space, draft picks, and new CBA, team dynamics may shift.<\/p>\n

DALLAS \u2014 WNBA free agency is officially underway after the league and players\u2019 union agreed to kick off the signing period on Monday.<\/p>\n

Teams spent the past two days sending qualifying offers to players whose rights they held and can now begin making core designations, essentially franchise tags, for one eligible player.<\/p>\n

Tuesday, the Dallas Wings\u00a0<\/a>made moves in free agency by extending a core qualifying offer to All-Star guard Arike Ogunbowale<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Starting Wednesday, teams can begin meeting with unrestricted free agents, with the ability to offer them contracts starting Saturday, April 11.<\/p>\n

More than 80% of the league\u2019s players are free agents this year, as players had signed deals that expired at the end of last season.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what you need to know about the Dallas Wings\u2019 three free agents.<\/p>\n


\nArike Ogunbowale <\/p>\n

Arike Ogunbowale is set to enter her eighth WNBA season in 2026. The four-time All-Star endured a challenging 2025 campaign, registering career lows in points (15.5) and field goal percentage (36.4) before an injury ended her season prematurely.<\/p>\n

Drafted in the first round by Dallas in 2019, Ogunbowale has long been the face of the Wings franchise. She was the team\u2019s highest-paid player last year, earning just under $250,000, according to the Her Hoop Stats WNBA Salary Cap Database.<\/p>\n

The WNBA and its players\u2019 union agreed on a new collective bargaining agreement last month, which led to a league salary cap of $7 million for 2026, up from $1.5 million a year ago.<\/p>\n

Dallas has approximately $4.9 million in cap space, adjusted for increased player salaries. The Wings also hold the No. 1 overall pick in the April 13 WNBA Draft, a spot expected to come with a $500,000 rookie contract.<\/p>\n

Those numbers will factor into how Dallas and Ogunbowale approach her future.<\/p>\n


\nTyasha Harris\u00a0 <\/p>\n

Tyasha Harris averaged 4.6 points, 1.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game for the Wings before a left knee injury ended her 2025 season<\/a>. She underwent surgery last June.<\/p>\n

Dallas originally selected Harris with the seventh overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft. She spent her first three seasons with the Wings, averaging 5.2 points and 2.8 assists over 88 games, before playing two seasons with the Connecticut Sun in 2023 and 2024.<\/p>\n

Harris returned to Dallas in February 2025 as part of a blockbuster four-team trade.<\/p>\n


\nMyisha Hines-Allen <\/p>\n

The Wings also signed forward Myisha Hines-Allen in February 2025<\/a>. She enters her ninth WNBA season in 2026 after averaging 7.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.9 assists last year.<\/p>\n

Hines-Allen was drafted 19th overall by the Washington Mystics in 2018 and helped the team capture a WNBA championship the following year.
