Sophie Cunningham will be spending more time on the microphone this upcoming WNBA season.<\/p>\n

Cunningham announced on Instagram late Tuesday that she\u2019s joining USA Sports as a contributor for the 2026 season.<\/p>\n

A league source confirmed the news to Fieldhouse Files and added that she will contribute as her playing schedule allows.<\/p>\n

The role is similar to those held by Draymond Green with TNT and Caitlin Clark<\/a> with NBC<\/a> \u2014 active players who also work as broadcasters.<\/p>\n

Cunningham is comfortable on camera and has previously done on-air work for Phoenix Suns broadcasts in the offseason. She was drafted by the Phoenix Mercury in 2019 and spent her first six seasons in Phoenix.<\/p>\n

Last summer, Cunningham launched the podcast \u201cShow Me Something\u201d with West Wilson. The show has nearly 50,000 subscribers on YouTube, and Lexie Hull appeared as a guest last week.<\/a><\/p>\n

Cunningham hired 3 Arts Entertainment for off-court representation in January, according to Sports Business Journal.<\/a><\/p>\n

Cunningham, 29, was acquired by the Indiana Fever one year ago<\/a> and appeared in 30 games before suffering a season-ending MCL tear in her right knee<\/a> on Aug. 17 in Connecticut.<\/p>\n

She is an unrestricted free agent and the negotiation period begins Wednesday (April 8). The Fever extended qualifying offers to Kelsey Mitchell<\/a> and Hull on Monday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cunningham was back in Indianapolis on Monday for the men\u2019s NCAA championship game.<\/p>\n

In addition to providing analysis on games and the league, you\u2019ll see Cunningham in unique segments and special content across USA Sports\u2019 studio show and social media, a source said.<\/p>\n

Last September, USA Sports reached an 11-year media rights agreement with the WNBA to televise at least 50 games per season, including select postseason games. Wednesday nights will feature a pair of marquee games.<\/p>\n

Tamika Catchings, a Hall of Famer and former Fever star, will serve as a game analyst. Studio coverage will be hosted by Elle Duncan and Paris Lawson.<\/p>\n

The WNBA Draft is set for April 13, with training camp opening on April 19.<\/p>\n
