If the two get out on different teams in practice, it is a little different. The two are competitors, and while they never let things boil over, they are constantly trying to one-up each other. Just ask them who is older.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m older by three minutes, but he always says it doesn\u2019t matter because he\u2019s taller than me,\u201d Chandler said, laughing. <\/p>\n
The two played football growing up. They even ran cross country together with the Grangers. No matter what sport they tried, nothing had the same feeling as when they put on their soccer kit and took the field. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe started with soccer when we were really young, and have always loved it,\u201d Chandler said. \u201cI can\u2019t imagine not playing soccer.\u201d<\/p>\n
This has been a dream senior season for the Gholston twins. The two are looking to help lead LaGrange to its first region title since 2023, when the twins were a member of the JV team. The Grangers need to win just one of their final two region games against Troup and Fayette County to earn a region title and home playoff games in the first two rounds.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve wanted to win the region ever since we started getting varsity minutes as sophomores,\u201d Christian said. <\/p>\n
The butterflies the two felt when they first set foot on the field for LaGrange have been replaced by a quiet confidence. The two do not do a lot of talking when they are on the field, but lead by example. Every action is intentional for the two as they have steadily improved over the last four years. <\/p>\n
