Finally, she replies, \u201cI\u2019m moving in with my sister, Bhutta.\u201d So, going full crazy for your fantasy team might not be advised in India, but here I\u2019m building the shrine! It\u2019s so early to look at peripherals, but eff it, let\u2019s look! 11.9 K\/9, 2.2 BB\/9, 3.03 xFIP and a 1.08 ERA after going 6 1\/3 IP, 1 ER, 6 hits, zero walks, 10 Ks last night vs. the Tigers. Out of all starters, Taj Bradley<\/a> has some of the best numbers in the early going. If I had him, I\u2019d hold him with both hands (in my recently constructed shrine). Anyway, here\u2019s what else I saw yesterday in fantasy baseball:<\/p>\n

Tarik Skubal<\/a> \u2013 4 2\/3 IP, 4 ER, ERA at 2.55. No shrine for you!<\/p>\n

Juan Brito<\/a> \u2013 2-for-4 as he was called up with Gabriel Arias<\/a> hitting the IL with a strained hamstring. Juan Brito<\/a>? Interesting. When I want to filter my water, I use Juan Brita. Take it, Highlights, it\u2019s yours! Here\u2019s what Itch said, \u201c2025 was supposed to be Brito\u2019s big moment, or at least his big league debut season, but he broke his thumb on April 17 sliding into third base for Triple-A Columbus. He missed about three months after surgery and then injured his hamstring, had another surgery, and is reportedly ready to play some winter ball. A selective switch-hitter with contact skills from both sides, the 6\u2019 202 pound Brito slashed .256\/.365\/.443 with 21 home runs and 13 stolen bases in 144 Triple-A games during the 2024 season. He struck out just 105 times (16.1%) against 88 walks (13.5%). With a middle infield of Gabriel Arias<\/a> and Brayan Rocchio<\/a>, Cleveland remains a land of opportunity for anyone who can hit, so Brito should finally get his chance to carve out some playing time in spring training. Trouble is, of course, Bazzana will be right there with him. And I will be right there with nunchucks for Grey.\u201d What? Brito looks AL-Only for now, but the hit tool could play for mixed.<\/p>\n

Gavin Williams<\/a> \u2013 5 2\/3 IP, 1 ER, 6 baserunners (5 BBs), 8 Ks, ERA at 2.04. The five walks don\u2019t even do it justice how all over the map his pitches were. Caglianone alone \u2014 Cagialone? \u2014 had to swing at 15 balls out of the zone.<\/p>\n

Carter Jensen<\/a> \u2013 1-for-3 and his 3rd homer, 2nd homer in two games. Someone aim the Two Italians on the Royals\u2019 bench towards the plate when Jensen is batting so they remember what to do. Or maybe the Two Italians should have some espresso.<\/p>\n

Noah Cameron<\/a> \u2013 5 2\/3 IP, 1 ER, 7 baserunners, 5 Ks, ERA at 1.69. He looked much better than Gavin Williams<\/a>, and his line looks lesser than. Shows you how important it is to watch the games. [knock on the door, opens door] \u201cNerd!\u201d<\/p>\n

Addison Barger<\/a> \u2013 Hit the IL. Well, he finally hit something.<\/p>\n

Cody Ponce<\/a> \u2013 Will undergo season-ending surgery, after injuring himself in his 1st start. Terrible time to do an impersonation of Aaron Rodgers\u2019s time with the Jets.<\/p>\n

Alejandro Kirk<\/a> \u2013 Will miss six weeks after thumb surgery. Jays should\u2019ve pushed Opening Day until mid-May.<\/p>\n

Kevin Gausman<\/a> \u2013 5 1\/3 IP, 3 ER, 7 baserunners, 5 Ks, ERA at 2.08. People wanting to bench him yesterday? I smell chicken, and chicken smells of Drakkar Noir aftershave.<\/p>\n

Yoshinobu Yamamoto<\/a> \u2013 6 IP, 1 ER, 6 baserunners, 6 Ks, ERA at 2.50. He seems totally fine. Good even. Fine, excellent! (Am I trying to jinx him? Me? Never!)<\/p>\n

Brendan Donovan<\/a> \u2013 2-for-4 and his 3rd homer. \u201cCheck out this guy, expending all his energy, not waiting for the season to start.\u201d That\u2019s JRod thinking the season starts in July.<\/p>\n

George Kirby<\/a> \u2013 8 IP, 3 ER, 6 hits, zero walks, 4 Ks, ERA at 3.60. M\u2019s have a bunch of aces, who so far have pitched like number 4\u2019s, until tonight. That\u2019s right, be better, be Kirby!<\/p>\n

Nathan Eovaldi<\/a> \u2013 6 IP, 2 ER, 8 baserunners, 7 Ks, ERA at 7.98. Gonna have to ask you to get your hands inside, we\u2019re about to shut the Buy Low window.<\/p>\n

Jakob Junis<\/a> \u2013 1 IP, 0 ER, 0.00 ERA and his 2nd straight save. For some unknown reason, the Rangers have decided Junis is their closer. Well, whatever the case, grab him.<\/p>\n

Austin Hays<\/a> \u2013 Hit the IL with a hamstring strain. Shame he can\u2019t stay on the field. He couldn\u2019t have a strong opportunity in the White Sox lineup since there\u2019s no else there. I mean, besides Derek Hill<\/a>, of course. Now you have to guess if I made up that name.<\/p>\n

Brooks Baldwin<\/a> \u2013 Out the remainder of the season, after internal brace surgery. Damn, the one good Baldwin brother. Luisangel Acu\u00f1a should receive more playing time for AL-Only\u2019ers.<\/p>\n

Shane Smith<\/a> \u2013 3 2\/3 IP, 0 ER, 1 hit, 5 walks, 8 Ks, ERA at 10.80. An emoji trying to smile, \u201cAt least there were eight strikeouts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zach Eflin<\/a> \u2013 Moved to the 60-day IL, due to his elbow. He\u2019s also headed for a 2nd opinion. No one\u2019s ever received a positive 2nd opinion.<\/p>\n

Trevor Rogers<\/a> \u2013 6 IP, 2 ER, 6 hits, zero walks, 6 Ks, ERA at 1.89. Annoyed at myself for not drafting Rogers in any leagues. He looked incredible last year, there was no reason to be as hesitant as I was.<\/p>\n

Gunnar Henderson<\/a> -2-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 4th homer, 2nd in as many games, third homer in five games. Please stay healthy and make my regret for missing on Yordan just a little bit less profound.<\/p>\n

Hunter Brown<\/a> \u2013 Will miss at least three weeks with a Grade 2 shoulder strain. Welp, see ya at the All-Star break.<\/p>\n

Christian Walker<\/a> \u2013 1-for-4 and his 3rd homer, 3rd in four games. He\u2019s going to be in this week\u2019s Buy, which will be on Patreon<\/a> in a few hours.<\/p>\n

Willi Castro<\/a> \u2013 3-for-4, 3 RBIs and his 1st homer. I need him to fill in for Juan Soto<\/a> on my team, he can do that right? [a thousand-year pause] Right?<\/p>\n

His stuff is nasty, but he has little idea where it\u2019s going.<\/p>\n

Cam Schlittler<\/a> \u2013 5 IP, 3 ER, 5 hits, zero walks, 7 Ks, ERA at 1.62. On this week\u2019s podcast<\/a>, BDon and I go over some pitchers to buy or sell and we both agreed Schlittler was a sell.<\/p>\n

Amed Rosario<\/a> \u2013 2-for-4, 4 RBIs and his 1st and 2nd homer. That sound is one hand high-fiving itself as the only person to roster Amed in any leagues.<\/p>\n

Aaron Civale<\/a> \u2013 5 IP, 1 ER, 6 baserunners (4 BBs), 6 Ks, ERA at 2.70. Civale out-pitching Schlittler is why they play the games. \u201cCan they not play the games and just, like, Stratomatic them or something?\u201d That\u2019s Schlittler\u2019s owners.<\/p>\n

Mark Leiter Jr<\/a>. \u2013 2\/3 IP, 4 ER, ERA at 10.38. Really shouldn\u2019t be anywhere near the 9th, but no one on the A\u2019s should.<\/p>\n

Carlos Santana<\/a> \u2013 Hit the IL with an adductor strain. That\u2019s gonna hurt the world tour. DBacks have some interesting NL-Only fill-ins (Tim Tawa<\/a>, Ildemaro Vargas<\/a>, Luken Baker<\/a>, Jose Fernandez<\/a>). Vargas is likely favorite, and all are zero dollar bids.<\/p>\n

Nolan Arenado<\/a> \u2013 2-for-5, 1 RBI. Any of the ex-players on Fox Sports (Arod, Ortiz, Pujols, etc) could hit better than Arenado right now.<\/p>\n

Zac Gallen<\/a> \u2013 5 IP, 1 ER, 9 baserunners, 5 Ks, ERA at 3.00. Pretty sure he threw more balls on two strikes than anyone ever. What\u2019s the opposite of put-away? That\u2019s Gallen.<\/p>\n

Freddy Peralta<\/a> \u2013 4 2\/3 IP, 3 ER, 6 baserunners, 5 Ks, ERA at 4.80, and lifted with a shutout at 101 pitches, but the bases were loaded and all runs came in. Having a hard cap at 100 pitches is so dumb. There\u2019s different levels of how stressful those pitches are. \u201cMLB managers be less dumb\u201d Challenge: Impossible.<\/p>\n

Drew Rasmussen<\/a> \u2013 Scratched from his start as his wife is delivering their baby. Their being him and Pete Fairbanks<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Moises Ballesteros<\/a> \u2013 2-for-4, 2 runs, 3 RBIs and his 1st homer. There\u2019s pitchers who have more appearances than Ballesteros.<\/p>\n

Pete Crow-Armstrong<\/a> \u2013 3-for-5, 3 runs and a slam (1) and legs (4). See, you mock a guy and he does well the next day. That\u2019s just science! His homer was off a four-seamer; his 2nd since the All-Star break last year.<\/p>\n

Javier Assad<\/a> \u2013 5 2\/3 IP, 0 ER, 3 baserunners, 3 Ks, as he was called up to replace Horton. You can\u2019t be Syria-ous with that start, Assad! So, he\u2019s never been a huge strikeout guy. His strikeouts are actually hilariously terrible (projected 7 K\/9), but he\u2019s always managed to have a decent ERA (3.43 ERA in 331 career innings), in spite of his peripherals. Mostly a Streamonator<\/a> call or a deep league one (15 team or deeper).<\/p>\n

Cade Horton<\/a> \u2013 Will have season-ending surgery on his UCL, according to reports. Reports is currently trying to trade Horton in its dynasty league with a leaguemate who is out of the country on business.
