I deserve a medal, don\u2019t I?\u201d she told the publication, per the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/tvshowbiz\/article-15712339\/Penny-Lancaster-55-jokes-deserve-medal-marks-26-years-Rod-Stewart-81-reveals-intimacy-alive.html?ns_mchannel=rss&amp;amp%3Bns_campaign=1490&amp;amp%3Bito=1490\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Daily Mail<\/a>. \u201cOnly joking.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The couple met back in 1999 when Penny was a student at Barking College.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2023\/06\/23\/rod-stewart-refuses-to-retire-after-kids-begged-him-to-focus-on-being-family-man-i-love-what-i-do\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The pair married<\/a> in 2007 and eventually welcomed two sons, Alastair Wallace and Aiden Patrick.<\/p>\n<p>Stewart was already a <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2019\/08\/23\/rod-stewart-poses-with-four-of-his-kids-mothers\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">father\u00a0of six at the time of his marriage <\/a>to Lancaster.<\/p>\n<p>With a\u00a0blended family\u00a0and hectic schedules, Lancaster said it\u2019s important that she and her husband find time for each other.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t take each other for granted and make sure we have date nights together \u2026 dinner, the theatre or whatever, doing the school run together and having an \u2018a deux\u2019 coffee on the way home, long romantic walks together,\u201d she said. \u201cWe flirt with each other and make each other laugh.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Penny Lancaster and Rod Stewart attend the \u201cEPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert: in London, England, on Feb. 12, 2026. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Lancaster said they \u201ckeep the intimacy alive\u201d by celebrating each other and the big milestones they reach in their relationship.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re big on celebrating our anniversaries and really spoil each other,\u201d she said. \u201cFor instance, for our last wedding anniversary, we took a very romantic train trip from Paris to Portofino because Rod proposed to me in Paris and we got married in Portofino. We love reminiscing about our life together and also making plans for the future \u2014 more romantic trips.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But the biggest secret to their success?
