An athlete from Grovedale showcased his skills at the CFL combine in late March.<\/p>\n
Carter Kettyle grew up in the Peace Region, graduating from St. Joseph High School in 2021.<\/p>\n
Kettyle continued to play football after high school, committing to the University of Alberta, to play wide-receiver. Kettyle made his collegiate debut in 2022, playing in six games and totalling 268 receiving yards.<\/p>\n
Fast-forward to 2025, Kettyle put up 649 scrimmage yards, and eight touchdowns in just seven games.<\/p>\n
After four seasons with the UofA Golden Bears, Kettyle has put his name into the Canadian Football League draft. Kettyle had the opportunity to show-off his skills at the combine in Edmonton from March 27 to 29.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was awesome, it was probably one of the coolest things I have ever done in my life. I was definitely doing all I could to take it all in,\u201d Kettyle said.<\/p>\n
During school breaks, Kettyle likes to come back to the region and help host football camps, when the opportunity arises.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel very fortunate to be able to kind of pave the way for a lot of younger athletes that have the same dreams that I did, when I was their age. That is something I take a lot of pride in.\u201d<\/p>\n
Between now and the draft, Kettyle plans to keep putting the hard work in.<\/p>\n
\u201cKeep training, staying on the field, and in the gym and continue to get my body exactly where I want to be for camp.\u201d<\/p>\n
