Two-time WNBA All-Star Angel Reese is “here to stay” following her trade to the Atlanta Dream.<\/p>\n

“I was so excited when I finally found out,” she told People’s Natasha Dye and Carly Breit<\/a>. “The team has welcomed me so much, the atmosphere, the culture … I’m so excited to be in A-Town.”<\/p>\n

The 2025 season ended on a low note for Reese and the Chicago Sky. She was suspended for a half-game after publicly criticizing the organization<\/a> and missed the Sky’s final four contests through injury.<\/p>\n

Still, her exit from Chicago was a stunner because it seemingly materialized quickly. ESPN’s Kendra Andrews and Alexa Philippou<\/a> reported she didn’t request a trade. The front office just decided it was time to move on and worked with the 6’3″ forward to get her to a favorable destination.<\/p>\n

The Dream have made the playoffs in three successive seasons, and that’s an upgrade over the perennial dysfunction<\/a> she’s leaving behind. Atlanta doesn’t have a true cornerstone star, either. As good as Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard are, they don’t possess Reese’s broad popularity.<\/p>\n
