Jennie Garth had to get her stomach pumped of alcohol and pills before ultimately checking into rehab following her painful 2013 divorce<\/a> from Peter Facinelli.<\/p>\n

The \u201cBeverly Hills, 90210\u201d alum recalled the scary and destructive time of her life while discussing her upcoming memoir, \u201cI Choose Me,\u201d during an interview with People<\/a> published Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Garth, who starred as Kelly Taylor for all 10 seasons<\/a> of the hit teen drama from 1990 to 2000, acknowledges in her book that she hit rock bottom after her split from Facinelli after 12 years of marriage.<\/p>\n

The \u201cBeverly Hills, 90210\u201d alum (seen here with Facinelli in New York City in 2010) recalled the destructive time of her life while discussing her upcoming memoir, \u201cI Choose Me,\u201d during an interview published Wednesday. WireImage<\/p>\n

In \u201cI Choose Me,\u201d<\/a> which is due out April 14, the actress recalls drinking so much alcohol and taking so many pills to cope with the unexpected divorce that she ended up in the hospital having her stomach pumped.<\/p>\n

Garth, now 54, checked into the Canyon Ranch rehab center in the wake of the near-fatal incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cI noticed my light really dimming,\u201d Garth told People of the incident and its aftermath. \u201cI wasn\u2019t putting off good vibes. I could see it in the mirror. I could look at the negative impact that that kind of grief and anger was having on me.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cAnd there was a weird switch where one day I just said, \u2018I don\u2019t want to carry this anymore. It\u2019s impacting my relationships and how I feel about myself. I\u2019ve got to let it go. I\u2019ve got to\u00a0forgive\u00a0him.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Garth and Facinelli, 52, met on the set of the TV movie \u201cAn Unfinished Affair\u201d in 1995 and tied the knot in 2001. <\/p>\n

They welcomed three daughters together \u2013 Luca, 28, Lola, 23, and Fiona, 19 \u2013 before the \u201cTwilight\u201d actor blindsided Garth and asked for a divorce<\/a> in March 2012.<\/p>\n

The \u201cWhat I Like About You\u201d alum previously detailed the end of her and Facinelli\u2019s marriage in her 2014 memoir, \u201cDeep Thoughts From a Hollywood Blonde.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThe ground that had been cracking and shifting finally split open and pretty much swallowed me whole: Peter came home, and told me that he didn\u2019t think he wanted to be married to me any longer, and he thought it best that we separate so that we could get a better sense of where we stood with each other,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

But Garth bounced back, got sober and moved on with actor Dave Abrams. <\/p>\n

The couple married in 2015 and, despite separating for nearly a year<\/a> following two consecutive miscarriages<\/a>, live together in Southern California.<\/p>\n

She and Facinelli have also since made amends and co-parent their three daughters<\/a> together as friends.<\/p>\n
