Edmonton\u2019s brand-new events district is one step closer to reality, with OEG Sports & Entertainment (OEGSE) and the City of Edmonton announcing a lead design team for the new event park.<\/p>\n
The new park will be located at the current Fan Park at the ICE District site across the street from Rogers Place. Plans include an indoor-outdoor venue designed to host concerts, cultural gatherings, festivals and sporting events.<\/p>\n
It will combine \u201cexceptional\u201d acoustics and state-of-the-art staging, sound and lighting. The park will also connect directly to Rogers Place, extending the ICE District experience.<\/p>\n

DIALOG and HNTB were selected as the lead design team following a request for proposals process that drew 19 submissions. DIALOG has worked on many Edmonton projects, including Rogers Place, the 100th Street Funicular and Walterdale Bridge, while HNTB specializes in sports and entertainment venues across North America.<\/p>\n
Design work is now underway, with construction expected to begin in 2027.<\/p>\n
The announcement follows an August <\/a>2025 agreement between Edmonton city council and OEGSE to accelerate development in the ICE District<\/a>.
