{"id":592592,"date":"2026-04-09T13:57:42","date_gmt":"2026-04-09T13:57:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/592592\/"},"modified":"2026-04-09T13:57:42","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T13:57:42","slug":"man-arrested-charged-after-mother-pushing-stroller-robbed-at-knifepoint-in-vancouver","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/592592\/","title":{"rendered":"Man arrested, charged after mother pushing stroller robbed at knifepoint in Vancouver"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man is facing charges after a woman claims she was threatened with a knife while walking with her child in Vancouver Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The Vancouver Police Department says the victim was on West Broadway near Blenheim Street, pushing her baby in a stroller around 10:30 a.m., when she alleges a stranger grabbed her phone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen she held on to the phone, the man allegedly threatened her with a knife and attempted to push the stroller over. The mother was able to stop the stroller from falling, but the suspect got away with her phone,\u201d said a police statement Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The VPD says witnesses heard the woman yell for help. Some reportedly chased the suspect long enough to provide officers with a description of him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWithin minutes, patrol officers located and arrested a suspect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/vlcsnap-2026-04-08-13h32m14s121-1024x576.png\" alt=\"West Broadway near Blenheim Street on Wednesday April 8, 2026.
