{"id":593087,"date":"2026-04-09T19:08:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-09T19:08:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/593087\/"},"modified":"2026-04-09T19:08:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T19:08:08","slug":"toronto-shutting-down-street-to-host-hundreds-of-free-concerts-this-summer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/593087\/","title":{"rendered":"Toronto shutting down street to host hundreds of free concerts this summer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Music lovers, unite!\u00a0It&#8217;s almost time to welcome back one of Toronto&#8217;s largest annual music festivals: the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blogto.com\/events\/beaches-international-jazz-festival-2026-toronto\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Beaches International Jazz Festival<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now in its 38th year, the festival will run for a month across all four weekends in July, with the hope of continuing to attract nearly a million attendees who have supported it year after year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For those new to this citywide extravaganza, the format is simple: each weekend live performances take place\u00a0at select venues across the city, with most shows free to attend. All you need to do is show up and let the street\u00a0be your personal stage.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what the Beaches International Jazz Festival has on the docket this year:<\/p>\n<p>July 3-5: Sounds of Leslieville &amp; Riverside \u2014 A weekend packed with music and food, taking place at Jimmie Simpson Park, located at 872 Queen St. E.<br \/>\nJuly 10-12: TD Salsa on the Beach \u2014 Join the fun at the country&#8217;s largest Latin music festival at Woodbine Park, located at 1695 Queen St. E.<br \/>\nJuly 18-20: TD Weekend at Woodbine Park \u2014 A wide range of musicians will perform and keep the energy going all weekend long.<br \/>\nJuly 21 &amp; 22: Johannes Linstead \u2014 Internationally acclaimed guitarist Johannes Linstead will perform at Beach United Church, located at 140 Wineva Ave.\u00a0These are the festival&#8217;s only ticketed events.<br \/>\nJuly 23-25: StreetFest \u2014 The party takes over the block as Queen St. E. transforms into a massive dance floor from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. each night.<br \/>\nJuly 24\u201326: OLG Weekend Series \/ Groovin&#8217; in the Park \u2014 An outdoor celebration under the stars, as this popular dance party returns for its eighth year.<\/p>\n<p>From the looks of it, the festival is shaping up to be quite the fiesta\u00a0of music from around the world.
