Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand issued a statement Thursday afternoon calling on “Israel to respect Lebanon’s territorial integrity and for Hezbollah to immediately disarm.”<\/p>\n
“We strongly condemn the airstrikes launched by Israel across Lebanon, including Beirut, which killed civilians and targeted civilian infrastructure. At the same time, we strongly condemn Hezbollah’s indiscriminate attacks against Israel and its people,” Aanad said in her statement.<\/p>\n
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also called for Lebanon’s inclusion in the ceasefire.<\/p>\n
“I know that many Australians are concerned about the events that are occurring in Lebanon. This is a matter of not just the impact there, but the impact that it’s having right around the world,” he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
