It\u2019s time to see how those golf swings are shaping up now that the warmer days of spring have arrived.<\/p>\n
Mississauga golfers can soon do just that as the two courses run by the City of Mississauga \u2014 BraeBen Golf Course and Lakeview Golf Course \u2014 are about to open for the season.<\/p>\n
BraeBen\u2019s 18-hole championship course opens this coming Monday followed by the seasonal opening four days later, on April 17, of its driving range and nine-hole Academy course.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the picturesque and mature Lakeview Golf Course opens for the season one week from today, on April 16.<\/p>\n
BraeBen is located in the centre of Mississauga\u2019s Heartland community, at 5700 Terry Fox Way, and its elevated driving range, at 100 feet above ground level, provides great views of the city, officials say.<\/p>\n
Golfers can take private lessons from certified golf professionals and participate in adult and junior golf clinics, as well as junior full-day summer camps.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis year, BraeBen continues to upgrade the golf course teeing areas and has replaced the asphalt on select cart paths,\u201d the city said in a news release on Thursday, adding visitors will also notice a new pro shop counter that\u2019s easier to access.<\/p>\n

Lakeview Golf Course, which underwent extensive renovations in summer 2022<\/a>, is tucked away in the southeast part of the city, at 1190 Dixie Rd.<\/p>\n That 18-hole course is \u201canother great option for golfers,\u201d the city said, adding Lakeview offers a scenic course that\u2019s been part of the community since 1907 and has hosted two Canadian Opens. It\u2019s also been designated an Ontario Heritage Site.<\/p>\n City officials said the course\u00a0has some notable improvements to offer this year such as enhanced lighting at the entrance and a newly repaved parking lot and surrounding clubhouse areas.<\/p>\n \u201cThere is also a refreshed clubhouse interior, upgraded concession counter, two new warm-up hitting stations with practice nets, new signage and improved access,\u201d the city added.<\/p>\n Situated just north of Lakeshore Road, Lakeview Golf Course has been at that location since 1907 and is Mississauga\u2019s third-oldest course. It\u00a0traces its origin back to the High Park Golf Club, an 18-hole, 50-acre course created in 1896 in Toronto\u2019s Swansea Township, immediately east of Mississauga. <\/p>\n The club then moved to its current location 11 years later.\u00a0<\/p>\n In 1912, the club was renamed Lakeview Golf Course, described over the years as one of Ontario\u2019s finest courses and a southern Ontario hidden gem.<\/p>\n Lakeview, they say, has remained true to the beautiful Herbert Strong-designed parkland-style course layout, featuring large sloping greens with subtle breaks that offer great challenges, and fun.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Toronto Golf Club, which opened in 1876 and is located just across the street from Lakeview, is the oldest golf club in Mississauga and third-oldest in Canada.\u00a0<\/p>\n Mississaugua Golf Club, located on Mississauga Road and opened in 1906, is officially recognized as the second-oldest golf club in the city.\u00a0<\/p>\n Those interested can now book tee times<\/a> at both BraeBen and Lakeview courses.<\/p>\n
