NEW YORK — Five Ohio State<\/a> players plan to attend the first round of the NFL draft on April 23.<\/p>\n

Defensive back Caleb Downs<\/a>, defensive tackle Kayden McDonald<\/a>, linebacker Arvell Reese<\/a>, linebacker Sonny Styles<\/a> and wide receiver Carnell Tate<\/a> will be in the green room in Pittsburgh waiting for their names to be called before coming out to applause and receiving congratulations and a hug from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.<\/p>\n

Ohio State has a chance to join Michigan State in 1967 and Notre Dame in 1946 as the only schools to have four players selected in the top 10.<\/p>\n

Two players each from Alabama<\/a> and Miami<\/a> plan to attend. The Crimson Tide will be represented by offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor<\/a> and quarterback Ty Simpson<\/a>, and the Hurricanes have defensive end Rueben Bain Jr.<\/a> and offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The other players attending are Texas Tech<\/a> linebacker David Bailey<\/a>, LSU<\/a> defensive back Mansoor Delane<\/a>, Auburn<\/a> defensive end Keldric Faulk<\/a>, USC<\/a> wide receiver Makai Lemon<\/a>, Notre Dame<\/a> running back Jeremiyah Love<\/a>, Arizona State<\/a> wide receiver Jordyn Tyson<\/a> and Tennessee<\/a> cornerback Colton Hood<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Big Ten leads all conferences with six prospects confirmed to attend, followed by the SEC (five), ACC (two), Big 12 (two) and Independent (one).<\/p>\n

Heisman Trophy winner and Indiana<\/a> quarterback Fernando Mendoza<\/a>, the projected first pick by the Las Vegas Raiders<\/a>, is expected to watch the draft with family and friends in Miami.<\/p>\n

The last top overall pick not in attendance at the draft was Travon Walker<\/a> when he was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a> in 2022. Trevor Lawrence<\/a> (2021), Baker Mayfield<\/a> (2018) and Myles Garrett<\/a> (2017) also opted to spend draft night with their families at alternate locations.<\/p>\n
