The intersection is shown here in 2024. <\/p>\n<p>Getting into and out of Mississauga Hospital is expected to take a bit longer the next two months due to ramped-up construction of the Hazel McCallion light-rail transit line, hospital officials say.<\/p>\n<p>Metrolinx, the provincial agency in charge of the $4.6-billion Mississauga-to-Brampton LRT project, is doing track work at the Hurontario Street\/Bronte College Court intersection, just south of The Queensway, during April and May.<\/p>\n<p>That area is a main access route to the hospital, which is also undergoing massive construction as the new Mississauga Hospital is being built over the next seven or so years.<\/p>\n<p>Trillium Health Partners, which oversees Mississauga\u2019s two hospitals, said patients, their families and hospital staff entering and leaving the hospital should plan ahead in the coming weeks and expect delays.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAs part of this work, access to the hospital\u2019s parking garage from Bronte College Court has temporarily changed during April and May and drivers should expect delays, particularly during peak hours,\u201d hospital officials said in an email to INsauga.com.<\/p>\n<p>Trillium Health Partners said the community also needs to know the following:<\/p>\n<p>Allow extra time to get to appointments, hospital visits or work shifts.<br \/>\nAccess to the parking garage from Bronte College Court has changed, with restricted left turns and a designated detour route (see map below).<br \/>\nTraffic patterns may continue to shift through April and May as construction progresses.<br \/>\nSite ambassadors are available on-site to offer support with wayfinding and answering questions.<br \/>\nCheck online for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thp.ca\/Pages\/Home.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">latest updates and detour information<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-807278\" class=\"wp-image-807278 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Hospital-in-Missy-map-of-construction-work-april-2026.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"699\" height=\"795\"  \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-807278\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Source: Trillium Health Partners)<\/p>\n<p>Work being completed at and near the busy intersection at Hurontario Street and Bronte College Court\/Sherobee Road may also lead to more noise the next couple of months in addition to traffic delays on the major street, Metrolinx said in an update last week.<\/p>\n<p>What will eventually be the largest hospital in Canada, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insauga.com\/largest-hospital-build-in-canada-raises-concerns-of-mississauga-residents-councillor\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital<\/a>, is being built at the southwest corner of Hurontario Street and The Queensway.<\/p>\n<p>Metrolinx said its work at the intersection of Hurontario Street and Bronte College Court\/Sherobee Road will continue until May 26 at 10 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCrews will be welding tracks and doing concrete work for guideway installations within the intersection of Hurontario Street and Bronte College Court\/Sherobee Road (just south of The Queensway),\u201d the agency said in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insauga.com\/track-work-on-lrt-line-leads-to-more-traffic-delays-noise-near-hospital-in-mississauga\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">its recent update<\/a>. \u201cWork at this intersection will take place in two phases to help reduce impacts to the community and Trillium Health Partners.
