{"id":593886,"date":"2026-04-10T03:06:29","date_gmt":"2026-04-10T03:06:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/593886\/"},"modified":"2026-04-10T03:06:29","modified_gmt":"2026-04-10T03:06:29","slug":"spring-sweeps-hits-edmonton-streets-with-parking-bans-starting-april-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/593886\/","title":{"rendered":"Spring Sweeps hits Edmonton streets, with Parking bans starting April 20"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The City of Edmonton began its annual Spring Sweep street cleaning on Wednesday, with parking bans set to start on April 20.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Spring Sweep, where debris and dust gets cleared from roadways and City-serviced active pathways across Edmonton, will take place between April 8 and June 1 \u2013 weather permitting, the city said in a Thursday press release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The city says this maintenance helps to improve safety on roads and pathways, prevent debris from entering storm drains, improve air quality, and minimizes vehicle damage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cFor cleaner and safer roads, bike lanes and major pathways, street cleaning is an essential service that removes debris and dust,\u201d said Val Dacyk, general supervisor of infrastructure field operations with the city, in the release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The city will also be issuing a parking ban as part of the Sweep, which begins on April 20.<\/p>\n<p>Major Roadway and Residential Sweeps<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The city begins their Spring Sweep with a focus on high-traffic locations like major roadways, business areas, boulevards, and arterial roads.
