Peel Regional Police have released new information about the double shooting that left two people injured in Brampton.<\/p>\n
The April 6 incident happened in the area of Central Park Drive and Glenvale Boulevard in Brampton.<\/p>\n
Officers responded to a carjacking around noon when it was reported that two people were shot when they wouldn\u2019t give up their vehicle to a pair of bandits.<\/p>\n
The male victims, both in their 20s, were able to flee in the vehicle. They went to the hospital, where one was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and the other remains in critical condition.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, at the crime scene, police chased the suspects on foot. One person was arrested, and a loaded, illegal gun was recovered. The firearm is capable of automatic fire.<\/p>\n
The second suspect is still outstanding. He is described as a Black male, wearing dark clothing.<\/p>\n
Naesean Okoko, 19, of Brampton, was arrested and held pending a bail hearing on the following charges:<\/p>\n
Attempt murder using a firearm
\nAggravated assault
\nDischarge a firearm with intent
\nUnauthorized Possession of a firearm
\nKnowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
\nPossession of a prohibited device or ammunition knowing its possession is unauthorized
\nPossession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
\nPossession of opioid<\/p>\n
