{"id":594805,"date":"2026-04-10T13:08:07","date_gmt":"2026-04-10T13:08:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/594805\/"},"modified":"2026-04-10T13:08:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-10T13:08:07","slug":"murder-investigation-underway-at-lambton-college","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/594805\/","title":{"rendered":"Murder investigation underway at Lambton College"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sarnia police are investigating a homicide at Lambton College.<\/p>\n<p>Police were called to a campus bar for reports of gunfire at around 12:50 a.m. Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Responding officers located three injured people, one with life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n<p>A 20-year-old Sarnia man was taken to Bluewater Health but despite lifesaving efforts was later pronounced dead.<\/p>\n<p>No arrests have been made and further details regarding the investigation were not immediately available.<\/p>\n<p>In a post to Facebook, Lambton College said the incident happened during a Student Administrative Council event at the Main Campus.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is a shocking and saddening event for our community. Support resources are available to students through the Counselling page on <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mylambton.ca\/login.htm\">MyLambton<\/a>,&#8221; read the post.<\/p>\n<p>The Sarnia campus is closed Friday, including all classes and on-campus activities.<\/p>\n<p>The closure is inclusive of all classes and services at the Main Campus, Fire School, Skilled Trades Training Centre, EarlyON Child &amp; Family Centre, and Community Employment Services.<\/p>\n<p>Sarnia police are expected to be on scene near the college for an extended period.<\/p>\n<p>This marks the first homicide investigation in Sarnia in 2026.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Sarnia police are investigating a homicide at Lambton College.
