Members of the Winnipeg Police Service went above and beyond this week for a special cause.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A group of officers, cadets and recruits took part in the 4th annual Brave the Shave event, raising funds for Make-A-Wish Canada to support children and families navigating some of life\u2019s toughest medical challenges.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
During this year’s event, several officers shaved their heads, raising more than $26,000. That brings the initiative\u2019s all-time total to more than $120,000.<\/p>\n

“Thank you to everyone who donated, participated, and cheered us on,” said the Winnipeg Police Service in a post on social media. “Your kindness truly changes lives.”<\/p>\n
Organizers say the goal was to raise enough to grant at least three wishes for children with critical illnesses, and that goal was reached.<\/p>\n
