With the help of a swordsman named Ramirez (Russell Crowe), the Highlander battles other immortals across the centuries.<\/p>\n<p>Out promoting the just-released shark movie \u201cThrash,\u201d actor Djimon Hounsou has confirmed to <a href=\"https:\/\/comicbook.com\/movies\/news\/highlander-remake-star-confirms-a-lot-of-decapitations-and-fans-will-get-what-they-want-exclusive\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ComicBook.com<\/a> that there will be \u201ca lot\u201d of beheadings in the film and that fans of the original 1986 feature will be very happy:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re gonna love this movie. The scale of the action in this one \u2026 certainly, being directed by Chad, the guy who directed all the John Wick [movies]. And it\u2019s an amazing cast as well. It\u2019s going to be spectacular. The sets, the way how they\u2019re designed \u2026 certainly, my set was just [great].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alongside Cavill, Crowe and Hounsou, other actors in the film include Dave Bautista as The Kurgan, Karen Gillan, Marisa Abela, Jeremy Irons, Max Zhang, Drew McIntyre, Siobh\u00e1n Cullen, Jun Jong-seo, Nassim Lyes and Kevin McKidd.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Finch wrote the script for the film, which \u201cJohn Wick\u201d franchise helmer Chad Stahelski is directing.
