iOS 26 keeps adding a lot of new ways<\/a> to customize your iPhone, but one of my favorites was there in the first 26.0 release: 3D spatial wallpapers. Here\u2019s how to use the feature.<\/p>\n How to apply 3D spatial effect to your iPhone\u2019s wallpaper in iOS 26<\/p>\n Your iPhone\u2019s wallpaper is one of the best ways to personalize the device for you. And in iOS 26, Apple introduced a fun new 3D effect<\/a> for wallpapers.<\/p>\n Per Apple\u2019s official iOS 26 release notes<\/a>:<\/p>\n Spatial scenes let you add a new 3D effect to your photo wallpapers, bringing them to life when you move your iPhone<\/p>\n Here\u2019s an example of what this looks like in practice:<\/p>\n The same effect is also baked into the Photos app<\/a> in iOS 26, and in Photos\u2019 popular Home Screen widget<\/a>.<\/p>\n In my experience though, this 3D spatial effect truly shines when applied to your iPhone\u2019s wallpaper.<\/p>\n When creating a new wallpaper in iOS 26, you\u2019ll see a row of suggested wallpapers under the heading \u2018Spatial Scenes.\u2019 If one of these grabs you, you can tap to select it, and the spatial effect will automatically be applied.<\/p>\n But if you\u2019d like, you can also manually select almost any picture in your Apple Photos library to gain a 3D effect when used as your wallpaper.<\/p>\n Just follow these steps:<\/p>\n In Settings \u21fe Wallpaper tap the \u2018Add New Wallpaper\u2019 button<\/p>\n Tap \u2018Photos\u2019 in the top-left<\/p>\n Choose the photo you want to use<\/p>\n Tap the geometric photo icon near the lower-right part of the screen (pictured above)<\/p>\n After the spatial scene generates, test the effect by moving your iPhone from side to side<\/p>\n Hit \u2018Add\u2019 to save the wallpaper<\/p>\n It\u2019s a small touch, but a fun one for bringing your wallpaper to life every time you pick up your iPhone.<\/p>\n Are you currently using the 3D spatial effect for your iPhone\u2019s wallpaper?
