For many, it will be a final test of speed and fitness before the World Cup season starts in exactly one month\u2019s time in South Korea.<\/p>\n<p>Based on Friday\u2019s Short Track (XCC), the Canadians look to be on solid form. Jenn Jackson (Orbea) out-kicked the U.S.A.\u2019s Haley Batten (Specialized) to take the elite women\u2019s win. Carter Woods (Giant) finished on the wheel of Christopher Blevins (Specialized), the reigning XCC World Cup overall winner.<\/p>\n<p>Jack Spranger rounded out the elite men\u2019s podium. Gwen Gibson (Trek-Unbroken) takes bronze in the women\u2019s XCC.<\/p>\n<p>Racing in California continues over the weekend with the full XCO events. World Cup racing <a href=\"https:\/\/cyclingmagazine.ca\/mtb\/whistlers-in-mont-sainte-annes-out-2026-uci-mtb-world-cup-leaves-eastern-canada-behind\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">starts in early May with a new venue in South Korea<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"This weekend, US Cup cross country racing lands in sunny California.
